MAYA SPRIGG - Script Writer And Company Founder

MAYA SPRIGG has been the principal of Stagecoach Oxford for 16 years and has been writing musicals for 15 years. Her passion is to make theatre as fun for the cast and technical crew as it is for the audience by writing shows that are contemporary,relevant and easily accessable from a young age.
Maya was born in England but travelled extensively throughout Asia during her childhood. As an adult she has spent many years living abroad in America and Spain before returning to settle in England. She has had a varied career ranging from motor racing to Stagecoach Principal and is very much an entrepeneur having run several international companies. Maya is also an author of short stories and gains much pleasure from writing. One of her main influences is her father,  internationally reknown linguist Dr R K Sprigg, who inspired in Maya a love of language with a dramatic flair.

JONATHAN BODEN - Composer And Company Founder

1977   Born in Chicago but grew up in Winchester
1998   Graduated Medieval Studies at Durham (BA)
2000   Graduated Composition for Theatre at London College of Music (MMus)

Jon Boden was a teacher for Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford for a number of years. As a composer he knows what children are capable of and writes fun, catchy and innovative songs for our shows. Jon is also a very successful recording artist and theatre composer. His recent theatre credits include:

DARREN ORMANDY - Script Writer (Robin Hood)

darren pic.jpgDARREN ORMANDY worked in business for six years before training as an actor at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has performed with a variety of companies, from the London and Edinburgh fringes to national large-scale tours including, The Hobbit (UK and Ireland tour), The Tempest and Measure for Measure (RSC), The Taming of the Shrew (English Touring Theatre), Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night (ESC) and  Victor's Life (Arcola Theatre).

His TV and film work includes the CBBC series Patrick's Planet, together with roles in Casualty, Smack the Pony, Soldier Soldier, Cider With Rosie and Following.

As a writer, he has developed scripts for The Big Telly Theatre Company and Cahoots NI, both based in Northern Ireland, including The Little Mermaid, Finn McCool and The Travelling Teller.

His directing work includes The Signalman, Hamburg and The End of the Party (The Union Theatre), and The Piano Tuner and Extra Time (The Landor Theatre).

He wrote the adaptation of Hamburg and Sweetmeat, which is scheduled for TERROR 2006! His play Robin Hood was produced by Creation Theatre Company for performance in Oxford in 2006.

Darren worked for Stagecoach Oxford as a Drama teacher from Sept 2005 to July 2007. It was for Stagecoach that he adapted his play Robin Hood which was performed throughout Summer 2007.
